The Columbus Metropolitan Library doesn’t exist just to archive books, media, and content. It’s there to help the community prosper by supporting opportunities to read, learn, and grow and to reach personal or professional goals. It was important to create a logo and visual language that communicated just that. It’s repeatedly ranked by experts (namely, Hennen’s American Public Library Rating Index) as the best library system in the U.S. Yet it lacked a clear and simple articulation of what it stood for. With more than 20 branches, 800 associates, and 400 volunteers, Ologie helped the library simplify and magnify its purpose. A new logo and colorful, energetic visual language were reflected in their library cards.
