Art Director, Design

Ologie is looking for a talented art director with solid agency experience who is equally at home in print and digital design.

Here’s how we see our ideal candidate:

You can handle multiple projects simultaneously, and you work well both individually and teamed up with other creatives. You can both think big and sweat the details, and your leadership potential shows in your interactions with clients and co-workers.

You’re a conceptual thinker who can bring ideas to life, and who can sell solutions with your strong communication and presentation skills, supported by solid rationale.

To succeed in this role, you will partner cross-functionally with our client partnership team and with our strategists to innovate and deliver compelling work to clients.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure that creative work meets clients’ needs and Ologie’s standards, and differentiates clients from competitors.
  • Manage and guide your team in client work, ensuring that the creative is on target with regard to timing, scope, delivery, and presentation.
  • Attend key internal meetings, helping to define the creative process.
  • Collaborate with your creative director or associate creative director on the approach, production, and implementation of projects.
  • Present client work in a thoughtful, well-articulated manner, selling the work when appropriate.
  • Interpret client feedback with the ability to move things forward with clarity.
  • Be present for all parts of a project, from kickoff through production, seeing through the details that matter.
  • Mentor junior members of the creative team.

To be successful in this role, we prefer that you have:

  • An advanced understanding of your craft and discipline, including the ability to think conceptually.
  • A business-minded approach, with the ability to work with a variety of internal teams and to prioritize client relationships and needs.
  • The demonstrated experience to own your work, consistently delivering against deadlines and managing your own time.
  • Good organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work in order to meet deadlines.
  • A proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Extensive experience in building, or helping to build, brands from scratch, including independent development of key brand elements such as mood boards, color palettes, typographic suites, photography, iconography, and messaging.

Growth Path

As an art director at Ologie, you’ll have the opportunity to pursue one of two career paths. Both come with increased responsibilities. The associate creative director path includes people management and greater exposure to clients and new business. The associate visual director path includes a larger role in design leadership and creative standards across the agency. Your coaching and professional development will be geared toward one path or the other.

Desired Experience

  • Between two and five years of experience as an art director or in a similar role, with proven skills in visual thinking and design.
  • At least three years within an agency environment.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop are mandatory; experience with After Effects and Premiere is a bonus) and Google Workspace.
  • A portfolio that reflects strong visual concepting, design direction, and design execution.
