Information Architect and Content Strategist

We’re looking for super-smart dot-connectors to join our digital team. Interested?

As an Information Architect and Content Strategist at Ologie, you’ll be a member of our digital team that designs and develops enterprise-level websites for colleges and universities. You’ll be responsible for defining content strategy and information architecture for these .edu projects.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

Project discovery

  • Conduct inventories and audits for content and information architecture
  • Assist in the examination of website analytics
  • Lead discovery interview conversations with our clients
  • Conduct competitor audits and research
  • Create and lead workshop exercises that help define the following:
    • goals, objectives, and metrics
    • audience segmentation and needs
    • messaging and content
    • site map and information architecture
    • user experience focus groups

Content strategy and information architecture

  • Create detailed content, template, and component strategies
  • Create site maps
  • Define taxonomies and content models, in partnership with engineering
  • Create content governance and measurement plans
  • Create client- and stakeholder-facing reports and presentations
  • Assist with establishing frameworks for user journeys

Team support

  • Support writers and designers during the creative phase of projects, providing clarification as needed, and facilitating an open and communicative environment
  • Work continually with the digital team to improve internal workflows and processes
  • Provide guidance on strategy and execution for content migration

To be successful in the role, you’ll have:

  • A proactive approach to problem solving, including taking initiative and thinking creatively
  • A communication style that’s quick, easy, friendly, and engaging, not academic
  • Critical thinking, including the ability to distill key insights and adapt accordingly
  • Strong communication skills, especially the ability to listen, understand, and translate information to various audiences
  • Proven organizational and time management skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude
  • Availability and willingness to travel regionally and nationally, as necessary, for discovery working sessions

Other requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in a related area of study
  • At least three years of experience in content strategy, digital strategy, or both
  • Experience in an agency or consulting environment
  • Experience in the higher education industry (preferred)
