Technology Specialist

In the role of dedicated technology specialist at Ologie, you’ll provide technical assistance and guidance to members of our hybrid workforce. You’ll also support our computer systems, hardware, and software.

Day to day, you’ll be answering people’s questions, training them on basic system and computer functions, addressing system and user issues, and resolving problems in a timely and professional manner. In this position, you’ll report to the director of information technology.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist in documenting technology processes and procedures.
  • Maintain hardware that supports the needs of new and existing users to be successful in their roles.
  • Follow established practices and standards for workstation configurations, naming conventions, and the like.
  • Help drive and support macOS upgrades, maintaining standardization across systems.
  • Coordinate the replacement and servicing of defective computing hardware and other technology devices.
  • Support procedures and plans for backup and disaster recovery.
  • Maintain and support all of Ologie’s computing, audio, visual, and videoconferencing equipment.
  • Provide support for remote and in-person events, managing the required technology to create the best experience for participants.
  • Onboard new users by deploying laptops and credentialing multiple systems.
  • Provide help-desk-type support for tech requests from employees (for day-to-day issues), ensuring that these requests are handled as quickly as possible.
  • Provide ad hoc user training as required to help employees effectively use Ologie’s systems and applications.
  • Assist in setting employees up with hardware and software as needs emerge.

For this role, we prefer that you have:

  • At least one year of experience in an IT-support help-desk environment.
  • Diagnostic skills for technical issues, with the ability to evaluate the severity of the issue.
  • Existing knowledge of macOS and Google Workspace.
  • Experience in scripting and automation.
  • A basic understanding of how backups work.
  • An understanding of remote access tools to support remote employees.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A customer service mindset, with extensive patience and empathy for users.
  • A willingness to ask questions and seek out help or answers when you get stuck.
  • The ability to perform in a fast-paced environment to support designers and other marketing users.

Important Details

  • You’ll be expected to follow our hybrid work model at our office in Columbus, Ohio. Because some of the position’s regular duties require an in-person presence, you’ll need to work in the office two or three days per week.
  • The salary range for this position is $45,000 to $55,000. Your final salary will be determined based on your training and relevant experience.

Paid time off includes your own flexible personal time, along with paid holidays throughout the year, including a holiday break (typically up to six days) at the end of December.
