Brand Identity

Bowie State University, one of the oldest historically black colleges in the nation, has a long history of providing high-quality, affordable education to students. Recently, the school asked Ologie for help in evolving its brand, and the minute we set foot on campus, one thing was abundantly clear. Everyone at Bowie State—faculty, staff, alumni, and especially students—has a tremendous sense of pride in the school.

Our work captured that essence and turned it into a rallying cry. We first focused the overall messaging strategy, stressing the university’s longstanding mission to develop and strengthen emerging leaders. From there, we designed a new logo and updated the brand’s visual and verbal language. The long-term results of the work look promising, and we have already seen a renewed sense of spirit at an institution that has much to be proud of.
