Traditional alumni magazines require a significant investment of time and money, even though they ultimately appeal only to alumni and donors. Recently, in working with Columbus College of Art and Design, Ologie was challenged to evolve the school’s biannual alumni publication (formerly called Image) into something entirely different—and to make it work harder for a broader audience.
The result was TURN magazine, a multifaceted publication for alumni and donors, but also art educators, guidance counselors, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, area residents, current and prospective students, and their parents. Pairing beautiful design with content that focuses on the process, not just the outcome, TURN reflects the college’s energy and mission, and positions CCAD as a national thought leader and innovator.
Our team then reinvented the magazine for the digital space, with a dynamic and elegant user interface that lets both the visuals and the content shine, whether you’re reading on a smartphone or a desktop with an oversize screen. The site balances quick access to features and departments with the idea of a more leisurely experience, like paging through a well-designed print publication. Find it at www.ccad.edu/turn.
